This service allow to the hospital to avoid an important investiment in surgical instrument, which often can be amortized over several accounting periods, in consideration of a fee for the management of a service which include both the initial purchase of instruments and also the maintenance and substitution during all the contract period.
This allow to the hospital keeping unchanged in accordance with the international standards, the qualitative level of instrumental provided, overcoming the problem of aging and the depreciation of the asset over the time.
This service is very important and it is recommended as a preliminary activity of a regeneration project of the reserve of surgical instrument, since it consists in a qualitative and quantitative analysis of all the reserve of surgical instrument present in Hospital, to have a punctual picture of the number, types and conditions of irons currently used.
To this activity follows that of set optimization necessary to optimize the reserve of instruments and of surgical set according to the operatives specialties, to the characteristics of procedure performed and to the relative number of the intervention developed, so that it could be managed in safety the peaks of activity without causing emergencies/urgencies to the sterilization service in the election of activity.
This activity will be preparatory to the economic quantification according to standard price list for the restoration of the surgical instrument in the current state and further optimization.
The Sterilization Service provides, through the supply of surgical kit of sterile material, the activities of the surgical block and departments. So it is of main importance a virtuous and coordinated management of the processes related to it, as well as the management of surgical instrument ant the program of the interventions.
Especially the aim of this activity is that of evaluate the sizing and therefore the saturation of the activities that compose the sterilization process in the different
time slot of the work shifts, with the purpose to understand if the human resource and /or instrumentals (dotation of equipment, kit) are adapted to the performance of the activities in the current state. This analysis obviously allow to perform simulation to the change of the planning of surgical activities and to the number of the intervention manages, with the aim to line up the service in demand changes, controlling the costs correlated to it and acting as a decisional support during the realization/renovation of the Central of Sterilization.
Once finished this preliminary analysis will be realized the project making arrangements of the operatives process of the main area of work of the central, in accordance with the main qualitative standard (ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 14001) and at the same time they aim to satisfy the needs of every single Customer, through the punctual choice of equipment to the furnishing that will compose the effective dotation of the Central of Sterilization.
To make the activities described above operatives and effective is appropriate to realize a set up technical and procedural of the Sterilization Process which verify the quality of cleaners and of the waters used during the washing and production of steam process for sterilization.
This preventive analysis in addition to preserve and guarantee an optimal operation of the sterilization equipment, will contribute to avoid phenomena of opacification of the sterilization steam.
